In crisis and conflict zones road travel is a high risk environment. For the many dedicated men and women working in such regions armored vehicles ar vital – at times it is the only protection that stands between them and death.

Paradoxically, these same people are regularly issued with vehicles in which armoring technology and survivability is never tested, independently certified or proven in any way. Consequently, their safety is compromised and expectations are false – resulting in, at worst, loss of life that could have been prevented.

Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) have become more common and more sophisticated in recent years and are now the central threat in many areas of conflict around the world. The detonation of an IED is sudden, savage and brutal beyond words. Injuries can be horrific and fatalities are all too common.

Purchasing an armored vehicle requires an intelligent customer – grounded in performance requirements as well as value for money. A correct and informed buying decision will protect lives – an error in purchasing judgement almost certainly will not.
